"Silent Night" is so last Christmas. Instead, celebrate "Unsilent Night," the second annual boombox Christmas parade in Baltimore. Participants are invited to bring their own boombox, and CDs and tapes -- and parts of New York composer Phil Kline's "outdoor ambient music piece for an infinite number of boomboxes" will be distributed. On the signal, the gathered crowd will press "play" and follow saxophonist Brian Sacawa through the city. The parade is followed by an after-party at Joe Squared Pizza and Bar featuring performances by Hybrid Groove Project and DJ Dubble8.

If you live in Charles Village or Mt. Vernon, you'd better stock up on the milk, eggs and TP now, because the hipsters are going to be on parade this Saturday! In addition to the so-outdated-it's-"funny" boomboxes on their shoulders, they'll all be wearing ironic t-shirts and artsy scarves, so you'll be able to see them coming a mile away. And you'll probably be able to sniff out their Parliament cigs before you see them anyway.

edited 12/21: Yeah, so it's today, not Saturday. Whatever.
